The Four Heartbeats...

For some reason, I thought I updated my blog with the heartbeat scan results. Sadly, I was mistaken.  I feel blessed that I received the following email from SCI:

Dear Fredrick,

Congratulations...!!!

We hope you are doing fine.

We would like to inform you that as per our schedule we have done USG scan for S to check the heartbeats.

Kindly find the enclosed report for the same.

We are very happy to inform you that four heartbeats have been seen during the scan.

Dr. Shivani has reviewed the reports and found everything fine with her scan reports.

S is doing fine & everything is moving perfectly ahead.

Please note that the surrogate mother is not allowed to carry more than twin pregnancy. So, we will have to plan fetal reduction for her.

Regarding fetal reduction detail we will get back to you soon under cover of a separate email.

We will keep you updated with her further progress & new status.

I feel a mix of emotions, as I am sure everyone does throughout this process.  I am still in shock that there are four sacs with four heartbeats.  I was mentally and emotionally prepared for the chance that no embryo took the first time. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would be having twins.  As you know, I am going to be a single parent; however, I have an amazing support system so I know that even with twins everything is going to be great!  Right now, I am just praying that this pregnancy will be a boring one.
