The Waiting Game

I know it has been a few weeks since my last post.  This is mainly because I have been pretty busy with work and there's no news on the pregnancy front.  Although I'm glad things are boring with the pregnancy, I will say that this new waiting period sucks! Now that I'm in the 2nd trimester, we only get USG scans once a month.  If you think the two week wait for USG scan is long, just wait until you have to wait for a month.  I can't wait to see how much my babies have grown; I think about them everyday.

I went to the store yesterday for my grandmother.  While I was there, I couldn't resist going to the baby section.  I have been doing pretty good with avoiding the baby section while shopping but yesterday I broke down.  I saw so many cute baby items: clothes, shoes, car seats, strollers, high chairs, diaper bags, etc.  I had a bit of sticker shock when I saw how expensive diapers were...times two with twins.  Those prices will make anyone get into extreme couponing.  The nice thing is that there are many online deals for things like diapers, formula, at the such.  I will certainly be taking advantage of those deals.  My sister sent me a link for some type of coupons that she would get in the mail for formula (they looked similar to checks but were coupons).  I need to solicit my entire family t sign up...just kidding.

Well, I think I'm going to wrap this post up.  Like I said earlier, there's not much going on.  I can't wait to share the new scan with everyone; I think I should get one this week (or next).  I wonder if I should begin planning my trip back to India.  Any thoughts? How did you deal with the uncertainty of when to book your departing and returning flight?

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Take care!

  1. Hi Fred, yes, no news is good news. We were on the same boat as you, but since we were also really busy, the 1-mo scan pretty much came by the time we know it. SCI will probably advise you to come to Delhi around week 37, but as you probably know, twins are likely to come unexpectedly. We decided to go to Delhi around week 36 just in case the twins come early enough. If not, then we have at least a week to prepare and buy baby stuff in Delhi. We are staying in an apt so stocking up food and baby items will help when we become zombies. :) Anyway, keep us posted. Cheers!

  2. Glad to hear that all is going well! It's good that you are checking out your future purchases. Keep in mind that your baby may require some adjustments, meaning certain s/he may take to certain formulas. Also, if s/he is allergic to cow's milk, you might have to look at other options. Even certain diapers can react to your baby's skin. Baby can also prefer certain bottles over others. It all works out in the end :)
